RILA One of the most beautiful mountains of Bulgaria. There are more than 150 lakes at an altitude from 2100 to 2500 m. The highest lake is the highest one on the Balkan peninsula and lies at 2, 786 m at the foot of Mt Moussala. The hottest mineral spring with temperature of 102 C is located at Sapareva Banya resort. The resorts for sport and recreation in Rila are: Borovetz, Govedartzi, Yakoruda, Sapareva Banya.

Maliovica (1700 m. above sea level). Alpine tourist complex. Central mountain school, camping and lifts.
Educational center Maliovica -
one of tne most famous schools for alpinists in the mountain. It is dated from 1952 year. Here the students and instructors found wonderful conditions for training. Nowadays it is the international school and base for alpinism. There were made international and national competitions and other activities of The Bulgarian Soviet of Tourism. Here are trained ski-teachers, bycicle-teachers est.

Borovetc (1340 m.)
It is the first international mountain resort in Bulgaria. Situated at the foot of the Musala top (2925 m.) in Rila mountain (1345m.) Borovets is only 73 km. Far from capital city Sofia. There you can have the holiday you want all the seasons - 17 well maintained ski-tracks, more than 20 tracks for ski-running, lifts with capacity 8650 persons per hour.
National mountain resort. The old name till 1942 y. was Chamkoria. The first villas had being built in the end of XIX century. Now it is wonderful ski resort with ski lifts, tracks, jumping-hi, forest school, camping. Borovetc is centre of the winter nationals and international competitions. Here are and the ex-palaces "Bistrica", "Sitniakovo" and "Saragiol".
